The Digital Art Industry

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

The change in art style and media is truly evident. While some may say that art is dying because portraits and statues are not created as in earlier times, artworks tell the culture of a particular time. It is not that art is slowly disintegrating. Like how people’s culture and lifestyle changes throughout time, art changes as well. Artworks from ancient times were very different, too. Our ancestors’ artworks were basically stick figures. Contemporary art breaks free from the traditional style. And with the growing power of computers, the Internet and other new technologies, a completely new and different art form has been created – digital art. Digital art is generally the style of creating works using digital technology.

Printing on canvas is one result of digital art. With the use of a digital camera, images are uploaded to a computer and edited with a photo editing software and printed on canvas. Other artists skip the editing part and print pictures right away. Printing on canvas goes through inkjet printers – yet another technological device. Digital art has greatly influenced other activities such as painting, sculpture and drawing. With all of them combined, graphics are produced and used in various fields like film, television, Internet advertising and special visual effects. There are computer programs especially developed to create digital art. When doing a project, sometimes it takes many specialists to create one work of art. Art represents an evolution that has been occurring for millions of years. Yet, the purpose and essence of art remains the same.

Making Art Car

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Various media for art have been created. There is photography, digital art and print on canvas. Offset printing was used for the canvas printing process. Dye sublimation and inkjet are mostly used these days. The medium for visual art has changed so much, art car has even been invented. If you are interested in turning your car into a masterpiece, there are quick and easy steps on how to turn your vehicle into an art car. First off, put adhesive tape on portions you do not want paint on. Use newspaper for the windshield and windows. Then, check the finish of your car if it has become flaky and rusty. If so, sand off the flakes and rust, then apply a base coat with a spray paint. Since it is a base coat, choose a neutral colour and spray evenly on the car’s surface.

Next, get cardboard stencils and draw shapes and figures you want on your car. If your shape has a figure inside them, stick those figures onto your car with adhesive tape. For painting the car, hold the shapes lightly on the vehicle and spray around them. You can tape the shape on your car if you do not want to keep on holding them with your hands. Spray 12 inches away from your car – just about enough as not to spray in places you do not want paint on. After painting all the portions you want, let the paint dry and then remove the cardboard stencils, tape and newspapers. Now you have your own art car. Get ready to drive around it and show it off!
